Why Regular Oil Changes Matter
Engine oil is the lifeblood of your car. It lubricates moving parts, reduces friction, cools the engine, and carries away contaminants. Old, dirty oil breaks down and causes accelerated engine wear — the most expensive kind of damage.
In Nairobi's stop-start traffic, engines work harder than normal. We recommend oil changes every 5,000km for conventional oil and every 8,000–10,000km for synthetic oil.
Our Oil Change Process
- Drain old engine oil completely
- Replace oil filter with genuine quality filter
- Fill with the correct grade and quantity of fresh oil
- Check for leaks at drain plug and filter
- Reset oil service reminder
- Check all other fluid levels (coolant, brake fluid, power steering)
- Visual inspection of belts, hoses, and tyres

- 15W-40 Conventional (most Japanese cars)
- 5W-30 Semi-Synthetic (modern engines)
- 5W-40 Full Synthetic (BMW, Mercedes, Subaru turbo)
- 0W-20 Synthetic (newer Toyota, Honda)
